The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is the worldwide leading textile processing standard for organic fibers, including ecological and social criteria, backed up by independent certification of the entire textile supply chain.
​​Criteria
The standard covers the processing, manufacturing, packaging, labeling, trading and distribution of all textiles made from at least 70% certified organic natural fibers. The final products may include, but are not limited to fiber products, yarns, fabrics, clothes and home textiles. The standard does not set criteria for leather products.
 
​Organic Cotton  is grown free of toxic chemicals or GMOs using biologically based and sustainable growing methods (such as crop rotation) rather than with highly synthetic and destructive fertilizers, herbicides, insecticides or pesticides. Certified organic cotton must adhere to a strict set of guidelines based on the scientific method of organic agriculture . Organic cotton farming uses up to 60% less water than conventional farming methods. When starting with organic cotton you end up with a much higher quality product with greater durability.                                                                                                                                
 HOW TO READ OUR COTTON FABRIC DESCRIPTION PARAMETERS​ ​

​Value in black represents  ​Yarn Count. The values in  red represent
Thread Count (EPI x PPI).
Then the available widths are given in inches. 

Yarn Count is a numerical value, which express the coarseness or fineness (diameter) of that yarn, in other words - thickness of yarn for making fabric. ​​
 EPI and PPI affects the compactness of the fabric. It is also known as thread count or cloth count. Normally EPI and PPI of a fabric are described as EPI x PPI. 
Thread Count is number of threads in Weft and Warp per sq. inch of fabric (warp and weft are horizontal and vertical threads running that makes a fabric). Thread counts range from as low as 20 threads per inch as used in tobacco cloth to as high as 350 threads per inch, found in typewriter ribbon fabrics.
